Educational research trips

The Sefer Center has existed for 31 years. Over these years, we have conducted dozens of academic expeditions in Jewish ethnography, epigraphy, and archaeology across the entire post-Soviet space.

And now we are launching a project for the widest possible audience in the format of educational research trips called "Time to travel!"

This is more than just a journey — we are blurring the boundaries between academic scholarship and adventure. We are transforming complex field research into an engaging itinerary where every participant becomes not a passive observer, but a full-fledged researcher.

We are pleased to announce that the schedule of educational research trips for 2026 is ready. This will be a series of trips for a broad audience, combining education and exploration of Jewish history. The expeditions will be accompanied by leading scholars in Jewish studies, and together we will explore the routes of Jewish civilization. Save the dates in your calendar!

June 5–13, we are going to Azerbaijan with Valery Dymshits.

On July 12–17, we are going to Belarus with Maxim Hammal and Sergey Busko.

On October 18–25, we explore Uzbekistan with Zeev Levin and Leonid Landa.
