ANNOUNCEMENTS
We begin accepting applications for the participation in the XIX International Conference on Jewish Studies
Dear Colleagues,
We are glad to announce the preparation to the Nineteenth Annual International Conference on Jewish Studies, which is to be held in Moscow in early February 2012, and we invite you to send applications to participate in it.
The conference is proposed to include sections that reflect different areas of Jewish Studies (Biblical and Talmudic studies, Jewish thought, language and literature, art, Jewish history of various periods, the Holocaust, Modern Israel Studies, Ethnology, Demography, Jewish education, Jewish-Christian relations, Jewish genealogy) .
We would be very pleased to see in the program the reports, whose themes will reflect the direction of researches by Rashid Muradovich Kaplanov, the 5th anniversary of the departure of who we commemorate in 2012.
We are planning to set the section "Family and Childhood in the Jewish world," which will include reports on the role of family, marriage, children, gender roles and gender behavior of the Jews.
Topics that allow to realize an interdisciplinary approach to research are also welcomed.
Please send your application for participation (download), the topics and brief abstracts of presentations (in the attached form below) before November 10, 2011 to: sefer@sefer.ru marked “annual”.
About the inclusion of the report to the conference program, as well as details of an organizational nature, the participants will be informed by e-mail at the end of December 2011
The organizers are to undertake the accommodation and meals for participants of the conference of CIS and Baltic countries, however, the budget does not allow her to pay the passenger fare. We hope that you will be able to recoup these costs from the travel fund of your university / institution.
The final program of the conference will be published on our website after January 10, 2012
Each reporter time limit is 20 minutes.
Languages: Russian, English (without translation). Materials of the conference will be published.
