Call for papers for Judaic-Slavic Journal
In 2025, we plan to publish an issue of the Judaic-Slavic Journal dedicated to the twentieth anniversary of the ethnographic and folklore expeditions of the "Sefer" Center and the Center for Judaic-Slavic Studies (the Institute of Slavic Studies, the RAS).
We invite submissions on the following topics:
· The history of the "Sefer" Center's expeditions
· Autoethnography and reflection on fieldwork experiences
· Methodological aspects of fieldwork
· Ethnography and folklore of former Jewish shtetls
· Ethnography and folklore of non-Ashkenazi Jewish groups
· Jewish oral history in the post-Soviet space
· Epigraphy and Jewish material culture
Additionally, we would be pleased to publish collections of previously unpublished field materials, memoirs, interviews with participants and organizers of the expeditions, etc.
The guest editors for this issue are Svetlana Amosova and Dr. Olga Belova.
We accept both articles (up to 70,000 characters) and publications of documents and field materials (up to 40,000 characters), as well as reviews of monographs and collections (up to 20,000 characters).
The journal is published in Russian; however, if submissions are made in other languages, the editorial team will handle their translation into Russian.

The deadline for submissions is April 22, 2025.
